Sony continues it tradition of launching over-priced gadgets with its new NV-U51 GPS Navigational device. Like most Sony products, this one too is a winner in the eye-candy department barring the huge window mount of course!
For now details are scarce, so lets just quickly run over the specs. The new Sony NV-U51 navigational device is a low-end model of the Sony GPS Series and is a simple yet efficient machine according to the Sony folks. The device is outfitted with a 3.5-inch touch screen and also includes the "Gesture Command" interface, which entails the user giving commands via finger swipes.
The device also comes with a 90-day free trial of RDS-TMC which will give out real traffic updates and alert users of traffic jams, accidents etc. It comes bundled with maps of the US and Canada and is equipped with a 2GB memory. There are no multimedia features on the NV-U51, so for 500 bucks you just get a navigational info! How boring! You can pre-order it at the Sony website and show your solidarity to Sony!
